West Ham United Foundation

This project doubles the accommodation that this wonderful organisation has for its wide range of facilities and activities for young people and the West Ham community, with football at its heart.

We worked with the Foundation for over 8 years from the initial concept of building improvements and extension, to the generous new built spaces which extend and broaden their facilities with almost 500m2 of new spaces including a pitch-side cafeteria, with education and multi use spaces.

The highly insulated Cross Laminated Timber structure is clad with fibre cement boards to create a dynamic decorative elevation combining grey cladding with West Ham yellow timber boarding at ground level. We embraced the West Ham team colours wherever we could throughout the building.

The existing nondescript brick building has been integrated with the new through external painting and a new entrance canopy uniting both parts of the site.
