Chandos Open Space Imrovements and Playground

Chandos Open Space is located at the heart of a residential area but had no dedicated amenities for family and children’s play and activities. The demolition of some local facilities to make way for Olympic redevelopment provided an opportunity to locate new community facilities across this site.

The masterplan identified the location for a play area and the strategy for locating a new community centre. In addition a separate Open Space study made a series of recommendations for improvements to all aspects of this neighbourhood space including planting, boundary and ground conditions, to increase its useage and make this a friendly safe, place for local families to have fun.
