Concept Design

Scoping for a masterplan to enable a major regeneration of Crystal Palace Park identified the importance of the park entrances.  This project, the 'Land Pier', for the principal gateway at West Norwood, introduces a new public open space and market square linking the town centre to the park.

Taking advantage of a change in level, this raised ground offers hitherto unseen views of the park and provides both accommodation for a new Crystal Palace museum building and local park facilities. Part of the site of the original Crystal Palace is laid out for larger scale seasonal events.
