Arising directly from feasibility work undertaken for SureStart Hackney Downs, this masterplan tests the potential for a new building in the park in the context of much needed regeneration and possible new sports facilities, and identifies a series of discreet projects to maintain and reinforce the particular quailities of the Downs at the same time as addressing critical issues such as personal safety and lack of facilities.

As a significant area of common land in Hackney the Downs has many different stakeholders to reconcile. The masterplan achieved consensus amongst the stakeholders and allowed them to progress with funding for achievable projects
